Governor Screws the Pooch

Today the Governor's Bus Tour continued into Fresno. Attorney General candidate and local State Senator Chuck Poochigian waited two hours to be part of the event only to have the Governor ignore him. Not one word.

Maybe the Governor will dual endorse Jerry Brown?

Your information is completely false. The Governor invited Sen. Poochigian, acknowledged him as his friend and said he'd "make a great Attorney General." The Arnold campaign had asked Pooch to be on the bus, but because of last-minute interviews with CNN and other media outlets, he decided to meet the bus in Fresno. The Poochigian campaign is working closely with the Schwarzenegger campaign.

We are the one down-ticket GOP candidate who's already had the opportunity to campaign with the Governor. Please check out your information more carefully next time.

Come now, Kevbo, give the General his due. It's no secret that Arnold's a big fan of Jerry Brown, and he has shown little more than lukewarm sympathy for Pooch's plight. The truth is, the extreme partisanship Pooch represents is no good for the kind of campaign Arnold must run.

As our good friend Ken Khachigian likes to say, "You can't beat somebody with nobody." Or, as Team Arnold might put it: "Why campaign with nobody when you're somebody?"

It could not be more painfully obvious that Pooch is on his own.
(Pooch on CNN? They must be getting b-roll for a story on Brown!)

Benedict - indeed.

"Extreme partisanship" and Chuck Poochigian don't belong in the same sentence so we know you aren't a Republican. Given the silliness of your post, you're either one of Jerry's apologists or even the Great Man himself. Nice try.

When it comes to extremism no one can top Jerry Brown's outrageous comments on the death penalty and other tools to fight crime and drugs.

Perhaps the Mayor should spend less time campaigning and blogging and more time doing his job given how neglected Oakland continues to be during its surging crime epidemic.

See you on the trail - Spillane
