COS Kennedy

The Governor is expected to name Davis/Dem staffer Susan Kennedy COS within 24 hours. This betrayal of the Recall will set off a war inside the GOP between the rank and file and the chamber/donor types. Among other things, Kennedy is a former ED of the California Democratic Party and the Calif. Abortion Rights Action League.

How would an organized opposition be formed?

What would best be done to undermine this, or to best rally the otherwise disheartened base?

We need to "Harriet Miers" her.

UPDATE: I'm told the swift negative reaction on the blogs and elsewhere may - I say may -have caused second thoughts on Kennedy tonight. The deal may not be done. Keep up the pressure.

Hiring Kennedy will serious separate the Governor from his conservative supporters. Recall supporters didn't work so hard to kick Davis from office just to have the Governor hire Davis' former advisors. One has to wonder who is advising the Governor right now?

Great choice Arnold.

You can only create more damage by running your mouth and letting your anger show.

Kennedy's job isn't SCOTUS. You may try your tricks and your bluster to get rid of her, but this deal is done.

Watch for more GOP staffers to sail out of the horseshoe next week. By Christmas the suite will be cleared out for the new crew.

As the Donald sez, "You're fired."

This will be looked upon at the Big Guy's "Jumping the Couch" moment.

See what happens when you lose your long-serving PR guy.

Remember, Kennedy has the power to hire my replacement. r

Time for a gut check and a return to first principles. We need a standard bearer who is well grounded and can lead the GOP in California.

Pete - The CRA has you Covered.

Check out the CRA's site, there is also a link to it on the top of my blog to a special site dedicated to stopping this bad appointment.

Awww...you guys didn't get a Republican in as COS and Gov. Arnold chose a Dem. What a shocker...

Let's take stock.

1.) Legislature = Dem controled
2.) CA demographics = more Dems than Reps
3.) Who didn't go vote in the Special Election? = San Berdo/Riverside/IE. Republican strong holds.

So...again...the "base" is in the distinct minority and didn't come out to support Arnold during the special, but NOW they think they deserve a voice in the hiring of the COS? Put down your crackpipe please.

You guys have got to be kidding yourselves. The Republican Party didn't kick out Gray Davis...a bi-partisan coalition of concerned Californian's kicked him out. Shawn Steel may have started the Recall...but he certainly didn't cause it's victory.
