Afraid or Arrogant or Both?

I have been getting reports back that John Campbell will not answer questionaires from conservative organizations.

Why?

Is John Campbell afraid or just arrogant or both?

Here is an open letter from a group calling themselves The Successor Project:

Dear Senator Campbell:

Conservative activists want to embrace your campaign and be embraced by you. TSP represents many organizations and local activists in your district. We have asked that you consider filling out our questionaire about your views, and participate in a short video-taped interview where our members could help you get your conservative views out to the grass-roots. Conservative activists only need a reason to support you: you showing real interest in us and our policy concerns.

Respected conservatives Bill Saracino and Jon Fleischman have contacted your campaign manager about scheduling a video-taping to suit your schedule. There is no hidden agenda here.

But today, your campaign manager, presented us an ultimatum. He wrote in an email that you would only participate in a video interview if two members of the TSP Board resigned.

This is not the path for you to take as one who may well be the next member of Congress in the 48th Congressional District. This site has not been “out to get you.” We have reported the race as it is. Please reconsider. We are waiting to hear from you.

Just thought I'd let you know about a site where you can make over $800 a month in extra income. Go to this site   MAKE MONEY NOW  and put in your zip code..... up will pop several places where you can get paid to secret shop, take surveys, etc.  It's free.  I found several and I live in a small town!

Nice Blog!!!   I thought I'd tell you about a site that will let you save hundreds on your
mortgage.   All you do is go to the site,  choose from the 5 drop down boxes,  and it will
tell you how much you can save and who can help you.  This is NO JOKE,  I went from an $800 mortgage to a $350 mortgage.  Good thing I did it now too,  because I hear it's gonna be much harder.. so check
it out!   Go HERE to find out how much you can save!

John Campbell has this race won, he really has nothing to gain by giving into TSP. The only thing he should be thinking about is not pissing off a lot of people unnecessarily.

John Campbell has never filled out questionnaires - from any interest group. This policy goes back to his first campaign.

In this congressional campaign we have received 43 special interest group questionnaires, many over 5 pages long and dealing with specific bills before Congress. Filling out these questionnaires would have left John with no time to raise money.

I advised John to raise the money and trash the questionnaires.

Senator McCarthy wouldn't happen to be one of those two members of the board, would he?

John Campbell is the kind of Nelson Rockafeller, country club Republican who just doesn't have time for people who can't hold a 45-minute conversation with him about the proper shoe for yachting.

To Answer Nick,

Looking at the board, you can probably guess one of them is Brian Park for the obvious reason.

The other?

I would rule out all elected officials, which leaves Jon Fleischman, Robert Ming, Deborah Courtney, Bill Saracino and Craig Alexander.

Since Craig Alexander of the CRA endorsed John Campbell, we can rule him out.

I don't think Campbell's campaign is stupid to pick a fight with Fleischman and Saracino because they have a mighty pen.

That leaves Deborah and Ming. If I had to choose between the two, I would pick Deborah.

Can Gilliard enlighten us?

Campbell is a tool. His campaign manager is a bigger tool that has never one an election.

I wish the MSM would stop handling Campbell with kid-gloves and take him to task on his many, many issues.

The other person is an elected official who made the mistake of trying to play peacemaker in someone else's fight.

John Campbell is now 5 points behind Marilyn Brewer and has taken the old army axiom that when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. His lame attempt to rehabilitate himself in the eyes of the voters by debating Jim Gilchrist will be a wasted effort: only his diehard fans will watch and listen because all the other likely voters will have already made up their mind. If only he had had the courage to debate with the other candidates.

I agree with Teflon that Campbell's got this one in the bag (although I do not think he will necessarily get over 50% tomorrow). He does tick off folks though - even if it his policy to not fill out questionnaires - he should still answer his to his party.
