Fletcher for the 75th AD

Good sources tell me that Assemblyman George Plescia is definitely planning a run for the soon to be open Cunningham Congressional seat. Additionally, former Cunningham staffer Nathan Fletcher is rumored to be gearing up to run for the 75th Assembly District seat currently held by Plescia.

I think anyone associated with Cunningham will be weighted down by that anchor. That is too bad though because both are good men.

It is too soon.

Who else? Does this mean Wyland is not running for Congress?

I would generally agree with you, but I believe Nathan would have a shot of overcoming these obstacles. He would have a lot of instituional GOP support because of both his and Mindy's ties to the party leadership, and his war record certainly wouldn't hurt.

Plescia vs. Wyland... Things that make you go hmmm...

I have my hands full with the Primary challenger John Doolittle has drawn in my neck of the woods.

I Don't think I'd have a problem with either one of them...

Boom Boom (nice name, by the way)

Why don't you put down the crack pipe? You clearly don't know what you're talking about. Nathan's accomplished far more than that boozing hack of a lobbyist ever will, and he's twice as old. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but at least try to bring something rational to the debate. This one doesn't come close.

It seems that "Boom Boom" and "Got Mistresses" are jealous of the fact that Mr. Fletcher was popular with the ladies before he met his wife. SO WHAT!

You see all you non-athlete, pocket protecting, RGP'ers out there, dating women is what normal, heterosexual men are supposed to do. Then after you find the one you want to marry, you commit to that one woman.

So "Boom Boom" and "Got Mistresses", please don't try and insult a man's character or fidelity just because you are jealous of what he has or has accomplished. Your attempts are purely sad.

As someone that knows Nathan, I can say that there is not a more dedicated and faithful man to his wife.

fletcher sounds like a good lad. a little lite elected official experience, but better than lori pfeiler, who is just plain dumb (i live in escondido)and liberal. if she ran, we'd be handing out abortion vouchers for women at every clinic - she is NOT a good rep for this conservative district.

The 75th will have to wait. Plescia is not running for Congress. Wyland is going full steam ahead. Morrow is still thinking and Kaloogian is nuts.

EscondidoSmiles,

I am sure that if Plescia doesn't run for the congressional seat, that he will want to run for the State Senate seat, hence, 75th AD will be open.

Senator McCarthy - Plescia is not termed out until 2008.

So when has living outside a district prevented someone from running?

Plescia's logical move is for congress or State Senate. If Wyland doesn't pursue State Senate Seat . . . Plescia could simply move couple of blocks and run.

Who else would run for the state senate if Wyland doesn't?

With the election over we know now that the 75th will not open until Plescia is termed out. Not sure if Nathan is still considering a run in 08 run for assembly, though it appears so. Here is the interesting twist, rumor is that another credentialed Republican and Iraqi combat vet is considering the 75th assembly seat: Raymond Liddy.
